Session 9

Quote: “Making learning a beloved activity “ –Lasglo Polgar

You’ll have to bear with me on this one.  This was one of the entries I lost on my hard drive.  So from my written notes, here I go.

We discussed Monica Pendergrast’s visit to our class, who will be doing soundscapes with us?

This class we were introduced to four corners presentations.  This is such a great way to present to the whole class but in smaller groups.  Groups can move around to see each station.

We covered the stages of any story:

In the ordinary world

Call the adventurer

Refusal of the call

Meetin the mentor

Crossing the threshold

Into the the special world

Tests, Allies and enemies

Approach the Innermost cave

The Ordeal

Reward

The road back

The resurrection

The return with the elixir “There’s no place like home” a shared phrase!

We used these stages to and reviewed a few stories we were familiar with.  Cinderella.  Phil even gave us a great handout that shows these stages in Cinderalla but also give actives that can be used at each stage in a class, such as conscious alley and tableau.

It’s hard to believe that most stories we can recall follow these stages almost to a tee.
